Today we reviewed our patterns, the sounds they make, and the rules they follow. Then we sorted our word cards and glued them in the correct columns according to patterns. After that we played Sparkle!
Homework - Complete the appetizer, main course, and dessert that you chose. Don't forget to practice your words on Thursday to prepare for Friday's assessment!
Today we learned that good readers ask questions as they are reading and look for the answers to those questions in multiple non-fiction books on their topic.
1. Read the fluency passage to someone at home and have them time you for one minute and record your mistakes. Have that person subtract the number of mistakes from the number of words read in one minute and record the result on the bottom as well as their initials. Do this each night and make sure to answer one of the questions about the story per night!
2. Read a book at home. Record the book you read and the number of minutes you read on your reading log. Don't forget to get an adult's initials! Make sure you do this each night!
*If you need books to read at your level go to: http://www.kidsa-z.com/main/Login/teacherUsername/srea0 . Each student has their own account with access to books at their level!
Today we learned that good writers add comparisons to their information writing to help make their writing more interesting and easier to understand.
Today we learned how to record data on a bar graph.
